Aboriginal Education

At Fennell Bay Public School, our Aboriginal Education Committee is known as "The Kooroora Committee". Kooroora is the bay that runs along the mighty Awaba (Lake Macquarie) that our school looks toward.

Using the AECG Partnership Agreement and the Guiding Principles for Leading Aboriginal Education, our team works to nurture the critical partnership between school, family, and community in advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education and leadership. The Kooroora Team remains committed to these frameworks as we continue to build inclusive and culturally responsive educational environments.

We work closely with all students, community members and staff to foster connection, inspiration, and to holistically acknowledge, commemorate and celebrate important events both locally and nationally.
